    Saints Team is Created

    On the first of November, in 1966, the New Orleans Saints were established as a football team. They would proceed to play in their first ever season in 1967.

  • January 16, 1970

    NFL Realignment

    On this day, there was a realignment in the entire NFC. Teams were placed into new divisions, and the Saints were put into the western division. Their new division rivals would consist of the Rams, 49ers and Falcons.

  • December 30th, 2000

    Saints First Playoff Win

    On December 30th, 2000, after 33 years of the teams existence, the Saints were finally able to overcome their playoff woes and win their first playoff game. Facing the defending superbowl champions, the St Louis Rams, the Saints were able to take advantage of a costly fumble. After the fumble, the Saints were able to run the clock out and win 31-28.

  • February 17th, 2010

    Superbowl Winners

    In the 2009-2010 season, the Saints were able to accomplish the greatest feat in their sport- winning a Superbowl. Led by the Superbowl MVP Drew Brees, and thanks to the game clinching pick-6 by Tracy Porter, the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.
